Darujhistan

Worrytown was a slum, consisting of a handful of sagging buildings, outside the eastern side of the city walls of Darujhistan. It sprawled on either side of the East Gate and along Jatem's Worry (Jammit's Worry).[1][2] The southern portion of the slum was referred to as South Worrytown.[3] Its residents were known as Worriers.[4]

The road leading south to Urs was a mere dirt track that was so narrow and twisted through the maze-like streets that few caravans made the route. Those that did were crowded on all sides by the desperately poor who sometimes plundered the wagons if they were insufficiently protected.[4]

Worrytown's largest structure was a rambling wooden tavern named the Boar's Tears which had a three-legged ram, painted long ago, on the board hanging over the door.[5]

In Toll the Hounds[]

Gruntle passed through Worrytown on his return to Darujhistan from a disastrous caravan run across the Dwelling Plain to Bastion. As the last surviving guard, he led the four remaining wagons through a crowd of Worriers who seemed on the brink of plundering their contents. The revelation that the wagon drivers were dead and that the bestial Gruntle was prepared to defend them with his swords sent the frightened crowd to flight.[4]

Anomander Rake flew from Black Coral to Darujhistan in his Soletaken form, alighting on the trader road before walking through the shanties of Worrytown and into the city.[6]

Kallor failed his attempt to reach Darujhistan for the Convergence that occurred on the last night of the Gedderone Fête. Instead, he spent the next morning drinking ale at an empty tavern in Worrytown listening to the city's bells ringing in mourning.[7]
