Northern Kolanse Edit

The Imass have settled in a coastal region somewhere to the north of Kolanse, along with Udinaas, Ryadd Eleis, Seren Pedac and her child. Udinaas still worries for their safety, but is reassured by his son. He witnesses whales broaching the ocean, announcing the coming of summer.

Itko KanEdit

Crokus arrives at Apsalar's village on the Itko Kan coast. Unknown to him, his arrival is witnessed by Shadowthrone, Cotillion and the Hounds of Shadow. Cotillion, satisfied at the righting of this old wrong, reaffirms his belief in faith and hope. Rebuking his companion for thinking of setting the Hounds loose, the gods leave.

Crokus finally reunites with Apsalar under a full moon, thinking about story of the lover tending her garden on the moon, all alone.

Malaz CityEdit

Day 2 tranquil by shadaan

Fiddler in retirement by Shadaan

In Malaz City, a young boy watches an old man arrive at the harbour-front as he did everyday with a fishing rod and bucket, late in the morning. The boys tells him that arrives too late to catch fish but the man assures that he's not after fish, attributing his tardiness on late nights at Smiley's.

The boy rebukes the man for lying and tells him of his dreams of leaving the island and becoming a soldier. Though he hesitates at first, the man admits that the world always needs more soldiers.

A gust of wind wrenches Mock's Vane around and jams it, where it quivers, like a thing in chains.
