Malazan Empire
Strike was the largest city on Strike Island, the easternmost of the Falari Isles. It was located on the south shore of the Island. The city had immense, layered, seawall defences that were rivalled nowhere else in Falar but for the capital, Cabil.[1]
History[]
According to the legends of the Strike Islanders, the more commonly known red- and gold-haired residents of the Falari Isles were actually invaders from across the other side of Seeker's Deep. Only the Strike islanders were the original residents of the islands, and their old maps of the island chain did not use the word "Falar".[2] These islanders may have been the Walk people.[3]
In Forge of the High Mage[]
As part of his plans to conquer Falar, Malazan Emperor Kellanved sent a fleet of freebooters to spread out and terrorise the local islands and settlements. Many captured cities and settlements to claim as their own fiefdoms. When the Falar's Guiding Council of the Faith sought to coordinate a unified response between the islands, Strike refused to lend any forces to free Curaca, citing a lack of numbers to both defend their own fortress and mount any offensive.[4]
