Saemenkelyk (also 'Saemankelyk'), a subtly very toxic, inky-black thick liquid, extremely addictive when drunk, was eventually discovered to be the 'blood' of the Dying God. A diluted form, known as Kelyk[1] - as well as the most concentrated forms of Saemenkelyk - were used by the Dying God's adherents to bring new people into their cult.[2] They would trade it to taverns where it was in demand for its initially ecstatic but ultimately numbingly deadly effect.[3]

The word literally meant "blood of the Dying God" coming "from a dialect common south of God's Walk Mountains" where "saeman" meant "Dying God" and "kelyk" meant "blood".[4]
