Map Seven Cities detail

Seven Cities

The Olphara Mountains were a mountain range on the Olphara Peninsula in the northwest of the Seven Cities continent. To the north was the Dryjhna Ocean, to the west the Sepik Sea, to the south the Olphara Forest, to the southeast the Ugarat Odhan, and to the east the Kokakal Sea. The most notable city in the Olphara Mountains was the holy city of Yath Alban.

The mountains themselves had been worn down by millennia of erosion.[1] The landscape was difficult to cross as it was marked by badly folded and exposed bedrock, many lakes, and a few, mostly impassable rivers, as well as low-lying thickets and forests of spruce, fir, and pine.[2] Signs suggested people lived in the region, but no contact was ever made, according to the Seven Cities explorer, Othun Dela Farat.[2]

In The Bonehunters[]

The mountains were the home of the Anibar people. The Anibar shaman, Boatfinder, brought Karsa Orlong and Samar Dev into the Olphara Mountains looking for the Tiste Edur who terrorised his people. They discovered a toppled tree whose roots were fused with the withered corpse of a Jaghut. Eventually they reached the Edur camp and the Teblor loosed his vengeance upon them.[3]
