Mock's Hold

Mock's Hold was once the capital city of the Malazan Empire. Upon the conquest of the mainland, Mock's Hold was relegated back into a Fist's holding. The Hold consists of the Old Keep - which at the time of [Ganoes Paran's visit - was reduced to a stable and pigeon loft. The Hold also consists of a citadel where the Fist has his residence, and within the inner chambers, the affairs of the Empire as having to do with Malaz island were conducted.

Bolted atop the Hold's wall is an old pike. The pike's head had been cold-hammered into the form of a winged demon, teeth formed into a grin. This weather vane is dubbed "Mock's Vane"

Mock's Hold stands upon a cliff, accessible through a switchback carved into the cliff wall. The Hold itself is eighty arm spans (approximately 75 meters, or 225 feet), with the wall adding an addition six arm sans (another 5 and a half meters or 18 feet).
