"Who shall prepare our meals? Mend our clothes and raise our tents and heat the water for our baths?"
―Lenestro, expressing concern for the fate of his servants[src]

Lenestro was a noble of Kanese descent living in Sialk on Seven Cities. He described himself as "Factor in the largest trade enterprise exporting the finest tanned camel hide […] chief within the Guild, granted the honour of First Potency in Sialk."[1]

Self-centered and petty, he was "short and round, burdened beneath a gold-brocaded cloak that would have looked imposing on a man twice his height and half his girth."[2]

Lenestro was the owner of Roach, a rare Hengese lapdog.[3][4] The dog was cared for by servants who walked it on a jewel-studded leash.[5]

In Deadhouse GatesEdit

Lenestro was one of the thousand or so nobles among the refugees in Coltaine's Chain of Dogs during the Whirlwind uprising.[6] He served as one of the primary representatives on the march's ad hoc Council of Nobles and frequently made demands of the Fist for preferential treatment suiting his position.[7]

When his dog Roach was snatched by a Wickan cattle-dog Lenestro ordered the servant in charge of the dog flogged. Imperial Historian Duiker intervened, violently shaking the man by his collar before dropping him to the ground. Afterwards, the army confiscated the nobles' servants.[8]

Lenestro survived the Chain of Dogs and arrived safely in Aren.

In House of ChainsEdit

Much later, Cuttle told Gamet that he had snapped Lenestro's neck in Aren which had caused him to be imprisoned in Aren's gaol for a while.[9]
