Master Legem was a Thaumaturg who taught at the Academy in the Kingdom of the Thaumaturgs. He was a lean stick-figure of a man with a ferocious demeanour. He believed that a Thaumaturg's goal was to bring order to the world and to tame any threats that threatened that order. He argued that honours and awards were beneath those who aspired to serve in the Circle of Masters, who strove not for personal gain but for the betterment of the human condition.[1]

In Blood and Bone[]

As the Army of Righteous Chastisement made its way through the Jungle of Himatan, Commander Golan recalled his days at the Academy as an apprentice of Legem. The master had argued that Ardata possessed no true claim of ownership of the Himatan because of her negligence and inattention. As a conscientious and responsible party, it was only right that the Thaumaturgs should seize the jungle for their own stewardship.[1]
