Map Darujhistan

High Gallows Hill was a hill in the center of the Estate district of Darujhistan. It was located on Traitor's Track, which was a cobbled street, and boasted fifty-three winding steps which were surrounded by carefully maintained flowerbeds. The five nooses over the platform at the top had the express purpose of hanging High Criminals, an event which had not occurred for some time whereas the Low Gallows in the Gadrobi district were used frequently.[1]

The hill was close to Despot's Barbican.[2]

The gallows may also have been used for criminals committing major offences within the estate district or against the nobles, as Challice D'Arle told Crokus Younghand that kidnapping her would mean the High Gallows for him.[3]
