Cynnigig was a Jaghut. He was described as "bent and gaunt to the point of emaciation, wearing ragged skins and hides, long grey hair hanging in strands over a blotched, wrinkled brow, eyes the colour of the surrounding grass" with yellowed tusks.[1]

Long ago, he had joined with T'lan Imass and some other Jaghut to defeat four Jaghut Tyrants. Later, the T'lan Imass turned upon these Jaghut, but he managed to escape with little more than a damaged spine.[2]

In House of ChainsEdit

He met Karsa Orlong in the Jhag Odhan upon the request of Aramala. He revealed that the surviving Jaghut had been using Warrens other than Omtose Phellack to avoid detection by the T'lan Imass. He claimed to have hidden in a chest, which he had disguised as a rock, to avoid detection by the army of the Logros T'lan Imass.[3]

After a meal, he took Karsa to Phyrlis who summoned a herd of Jhag horses from which the Teblor chose his new mount.[4]

In Forge of DarknessEdit

Cynnigig was living near the Tower of Hate in the abandoned Jaghut city of Omtose Phellack. Draconus told his son Arathan to seek him out to take care of his horses. Draconus said Cynnigig was "strange but harmless, and has a great love for horses."[5]

"I do not grieve for my own ignorance. Why should I? Not knowing what I have missed means I do not miss what I do not know. How could I? Do you see?"
―Cynnigig to Karsa Orlong[src]
