Chaur (younger) was the infant son of Barathol Mekhar and his wife, Scillara, who lived in a row-house in the Gadrobi District of Darujhistan. The child had been named after Barathol's dear friend and companion, Chaur, who Scillara had also known well. When Barathol looked upon his son, he wondered that he could ever have been gifted with "such a treasure".[1]
